Service Learning

Beginning in elementary school, students are exposed to developmentally appropriate opportunities to learn about the needs of others throughout the world.  Middle school challenges students to look beyond their circle of peers and discover the real experiences of those in need outside in the immediate community and internationally.  With high school comes the opportunity for students to serve in a variety of areas locally and to gain an understanding of how the Lord is calling them to use their distinct gifts to serve others.  By the senior year, students are ready to engage the community from a more vocational perspective through job shadowing and internship experiences.

Service Learning is a scholarly approach to community service that integrates curriculum and intentional service to the community.  It requires middle and upper school students to develop the skills of planning, action and reflection.  Central Academy aspires to grow a program that is embraced by students as they discover their God-given talents.  As they discover their passions, they discover how to serve others, which honors Him.
