Elementary
Kindergarten – 5th Grade
Our reading program is phonics based, emphasizing accuracy, fluency and comprehension. Manuscript handwriting is mastered before cursive is formally introduced and taught. Journaling, creative writing and research writing is practiced and encouraged.
The Academy’s math curriculum facilitates higher level thinking, encourages students to take the problem to the next level, including addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, pre-algebra and geometry, and statistics and graphing.
Science is taught in thematic units encouraging the exploration and understanding of God’s creation.
Students are encouraged to make decisions using the Bible as their foundation, to respect our Creator and to develop a personal, ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ. Bible stories and characters are studied daily through scripture, songs and memorization.
Students receive regular instruction in Spanish, art, music, physical education and computers.
The cumulative curriculum involves unit studies, craft/project activities and opportunities for cooperative learning.
